报告人简介：

刘宏宇，2007年博士毕业于香港中文大学数学系，现为香港城市大学数学系讲座教授，曾任职于美国北卡罗来纳大学和华盛顿大学及英国雷丁大学，研究领域为应用数学和计算数学，包括反问题及成像、数学物理方程、散射理论和谱理论、数学材料科学、博论和生物数学。曾获国际反问题协金莎澳门官网最高荣誉Calderón Prize,香港数学金莎澳门官网青年学者奖，获聘教育部长江讲座教授，获选英国物理学金莎澳门官网金莎澳门官网士、数学及应用学金莎澳门官网金莎澳门官网士。担任中国仿真学金莎澳门官网不确定系统分析及仿真专业委员金莎澳门官网副主任、国际反问题协金莎澳门官网执委金莎澳门官网委员及秘书、香港数学金莎澳门官网CouncilMember、香港工业与应用数学学金莎澳门官网Board Member、香港研究资助局自然科学评议组PanelMember、及国际期刊Comm.Anal.Comput.创刊主编。

报告摘要：

Albert Einstein once said: “The most incomprehensible thing about the Universe is that it is comprehensible.” Following this quote, the most incomprehensible thing about biological species, including human beings, is that they are comprehensible, but in the large scale. In this talk, l will discuss our recent study of inferring the large population dynamics from observation of the corresponding dynamical behaviors.
